The new Messenger Brand

For a product that had billions of users, Messenger surprisingly did not have its own identity. So, in 2018 it was time to say good-bye to β€œFacebook Messenger” and say πŸ‘‹ β€œMessenger.”

Working with the brand and product designers, I gave Messenger its very own personality, voice, and tone that was not only more friendly but also had a bit of a wink. We then applied this style to a large-scale integrated marketing campaign that included a launch video, PR materials, in-product communications, and more.
